University of Oregon Safety and Risk Services now has a way for people outside the UO system to receive instant Text Message versions of UO Alert emergency notifications.
People regularly on the UO campus, such as contract or service workers should use the method below to receive notifications to a mobile device in campus emergencies. Please share with anyone interested!
This text service is provided via Twitter (no Twitter app or account is necessary) and is free, except for standard text messaging rates as determined by your mobile phone plan.
- Sign up for text alerts: Use your mobile phone to send a text message to 40404 that says FOLLOW UOALERT
- Confirmation: You will receive a text message confirming your subscription
- Getting extra messages that you don’t want? Reply SET DISCOVER OFF to stop those messages
- Want to unsubscribe? Reply STOP — or if you follow other accounts and want to unsubscribe only from UO Alert, reply UNFOLLOW UOALERT
