Furniture Purchase Guidelines

Below is an informational chart that will help you when it is time to purchase furniture. These questions should be asked and answered in the order they are presented.

Please Note: This information is not exhaustive. 

Additional information regarding furniture and finish options, layout/space planning, and installation coordination should be directed to Design Services.   1. Is the furniture affixed or attached to a building? This includes electricity if it requires more than plugging into an existing receptacle.

Yes.

Submit a project initiation request to Design and Construction.

No.

Proceed to question two.

  1. Are any of the following true?
    • The purchase has a total cost of over $10,000.
    • There are costs included for any kind of labor.
    • The furniture is associated with a renovation or construction project managed by Design and Construction.

Yes.

Submit a project initiation request to Design and Construction.

No.

Proceed to question three.

  1. Do you have Delegated Contracting Authority?

Yes.

Use the university-approved purchase order form. Users with approved Delegated Contracting Authority can process PO's up to $10,000.

No.

Create a matter intake form for a purchase order through the UO Purchasing Portal to be processed by Purchasing and Contracting Services.
